Outreach & Services
In light of its dedication to promoting spirit and knowledge in harmony with action, the Chair reaches out to, and engages with, partners on a variety of initiatives. The specifics of covering costs and fees can be discussed with the Chair on a case-by-case basis.

Speaking
As time and circumstances allow, the holder of the Chair is available to serve as an invited speaker or as a participant in panel discussions. Requests should be discussed directly with the holder of the Chair.

Analysis
The Chair provides analytical services for agreed upon fees when the benefit primarily accrues to other programs and organizations.

The Chair can provide analysis of specific issues, or more general topics in a variety of ways, from a simple opinion paper to an agreed upon special funded activity. Proposals can be discussed with the Chair or with its Faculty Research Associate.

Facilitating and Capacity Building
The Chair seeks to promote its aims by encouraging and assisting the development of like-minded capacities and activities in other organizations and institutions, particularly those located in, or operating for the benefit of, developing countries. Specific arrangements for facilitating and capacity building services depend upon circumstances and should be discussed directly with the Chair.

Suggested Solutions to Compelling Problems
The Chair addresses real-world problems through its courses and collaborations. Those interested in particular issues are offered a variety of ways of calling upon the Chair for assistance in obtaining insights and research on matters of specific relevance to them they can simply express a need to peak interest, offer assistance and collaboration, or sponsorship of student research; propose collaboration with the Chair itself or obtain the services of the Chair on a fee-for-service basis. The first series of "suggested solutions" are projected for January 2007.

Another Way to Save New Orleans
More than a year after hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans the presumption continues that the problem began and ends largely with governmental assistance and rebuilding physical infrastructure. In fact, that presumption has been part of the problem.
